【About the position】 As a full-stack engineer, your responsibilities will include planning, estimating and supporting new features for our products. 【Requirements】 ・3+ years of experience in front-end or back-end development. For applicants with no professional experience, a solid portfolio of side projects is required. ・Experience using PHP, Go and TypeScript (React). For those without PHP or Go experience, knowledge of a common back-end languages (Java, C#, Ruby, Python, etc.) is acceptable. ・Understanding of object-oriented programming design patterns and functional programming ・Strong knowledge of data structure and algorithms ・A habit of incorporating automated testing as a natural part of the development flow ・Fluent English communication skills ・Excellent writing skills: we are a full remote company, so most communication is done through written communication ・A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field ・Alternatively, at least 10 years of relevant work experience may be accepted for visa purposes 【Visa documentation requirement】 If you apply based on 10 years of work experience instead of a relevant bachelor’s degree, employment certificates or equivalent official documents proving the full 10 years of relevant experience will be required for visa purposes. 【Nice to haves】 None of the following is required to apply, but experience in any of these areas is welcome: ・Interest in learning other programming languages and technologies ・Japanese is not required, but welcome ・Experience or interest in server management and infrastructure (Docker, k8s, Ansible, etc.) ・Interest in NLP, speech recognition, or LLMs ・Experience in a multicultural environment

◆Company Overview◆ Yaraku, founded in Shibuya in 2009, is a start-up company. We develop and sell a platform called "YarakuTranslate", which integrates AI translation with editing, sharing, and ordering to translation companies. Various faculty members, including a professor and a pioneer in AI translation research at Rikkyo University, are involved in developing the concept for YarakuTranslate. ◆Working Style◆ We have implemented a flextime system and remote work options, creating a supportive environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, our diverse team, composed of staff from various nationalities, usually communicates in English. To strengthen our relationships, all staff members gather for a meet-up party every three months.

Visa documentation requirement

Tech Stack
〈Back-end〉 ・Parts of the back-end are written in Go, and migration to Go is ongoing ・Most of the back-end is written in PHP 8 (Laravel) ・Deployment is done through Ansible, Docker and k8s ・CI/CD relies on GitHub Actions and Jenkins 〈Front-end〉 ・All of the front-end uses TypeScript and React and Vite for building ・Certain legacy parts of the front-end use AngularJS (v1) ・Vitest for testing 〈Communication〉 Slack, Google Meet, Zoom 〈Project management〉 Jira, Confluence, Notion
